Before We Begin

Working Together — Coaching vs. Medical Care
1. Is Dr. BKC my doctor if I work with her as a health coach?
No. When you work with Dr. BKC through Living Eden Health & Wellness, she is serving as a faith-centered health coach and wellness guide — not as your physician. This work does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Any medical care or treatment should continue with your licensed primary care provider.
2. Does health coaching replace my regular doctor visits?
Absolutely not. Health coaching is complementary, never a replacement. You should always maintain regular care with your primary care physician or specialist. Coaching supports your journey, but medical diagnosis and treatment must come from a licensed provider.
3. Will Dr. BKC prescribe medications or order lab tests as a coach?
No. As a health coach, Dr. BKC does not prescribe medications, order diagnostic labs, or provide medical treatment. If you have medical concerns, she will encourage you to follow up with your primary care provider.
4. Can you help me with my diagnosed medical condition through coaching?
Coaching can support you with the lifestyle factors related to your condition — nutrition, stress, sleep, and daily habits — but Dr. BKC will not diagnose, treat, or manage a medical condition in the coaching relationship. Always work with your medical team for condition-specific care.
Herbal Guidance & Holistic Care
5. Will Dr. BKC recommend herbs or supplements?
Dr. BKC may offer personalized herbal suggestions and wellness plans based on your goals and history. These are educational recommendations, not medical prescriptions. Always consult your primary care provider before starting any new herb or supplement.
6. Are herbal suggestions safe if I’m already on medication?
Herbs can interact with medications and with certain conditions. For this reason, Dr. BKC always encourages you to review any herbal suggestion with your prescribing physician or pharmacist before starting. This is especially important if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a chronic condition, or taking prescription medication. Your safety is ALWAYS the priority.
7. What is “root-cause holistic care” in a coaching context?
Root-cause holistic care means looking beyond symptoms to the underlying factors that shape your health — stress, sleep, nutrition, spiritual well-being, and lifestyle. As a health coach, Dr. BKC helps you identify these areas and build sustainable change. She does not diagnose medical conditions.
Faith & the Spiritual Component
8. Do I have to be Christian to work with Dr. BKC?
Dr. BKC’s approach is rooted in her Christian faith, and she serves clients from all backgrounds with respect and compassion. If you’re seeking faith-centered guidance, she offers that openly. If you prefer a secular approach, please reach out so you can discuss together whether her style aligns with your needs.
9. How does faith show up in coaching sessions?
Faith may be woven into sessions through prayer, scripture reflection, or conversation about spiritual health as part of whole-person wellness. You’re always welcome to tell Dr. BKC what level of faith integration feels right for you.
Faith & the Spiritual Component
10. When should I seek medical care instead?
Always, for anything urgent or serious. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number right away. For symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions, or anything requiring medical judgment, see your physician. Coaching is never the right setting for emergency or acute medical needs.
